Job summary

The University of Florida College of Dentistry seeks a Sterile Equipment Technician to clean and prepare dental instruments for sterilization, operate and maintain sterilization equipment, and dispense tools to students and departments using Axium and INFO-DOT.

The role requires a high school diploma, with preferred Dental Assistant certification, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and coordinate instrument workflow. Various benefits accompany this onsite position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training preferred.
• Ability to prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to plan, organize, and perform work assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments, using Axium and INFO-DOT.
• Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for UFCD dental students and clinics.
• Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments.
• Oiling and maintaining instruments and hand pieces.
• Maintaining machines and reporting needs for repairs; managing supplies inventory.
• Labeling and scanning with the Axium program.
• In-service training and staying updated on sterilization techniques and computer classes.
• Other related duties as assigned.
