Job summary

Civica Petersburg sterile injectable pharmaceutical manufacturing facility seeks a Calibration Technician to perform routine and non-routine calibrations on a wide range of instruments, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain cGMP documentation. The role supports QA, Maintenance, and Production teams to keep equipment ready and compliant in a cleanroom environment.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years calibrating in GMP settings, an associate degree or technical certification in instrumentation

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of calibration experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment, preferably sterile injectables.
• Understanding of calibration principles, metrology, and regulatory compliance (FDA, EU GMP, ISO 17025).
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with calibration management systems (e.g., CMMS, Blue Mountain, Maximo)
• Ability & experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on instruments (pressure gauges, temp sensors, balances, pH meters) and document in CMMS.
• Maintain calibration records per cGMP and internal standards.
• Troubleshoot calibration issues including out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Support investigations, deviations, CAPA, and change controls related to calibration.
• Ensure standards are traceable to national/international references.
• Assist audits with calibration docs and technical support.
• Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Production to ensure readiness.
• Update SOPs for calibration.
• Maintain calibration schedules and prevent overdue equipment.
• Work safely with hazardous chemicals and in cleanroom environments.
• Able to check EMS/BMS alarms.
