Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Sterile Core Technician to coordinate the flow of surgical case supplies between the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and the OR, supporting case flow and quality initiatives.

Requires a high school diploma; preferred one year of Sterile Core Technician experience or 2 years CDS certification, or five years OR experience as a Surgical Technologist. Work hours 3p-11p; weekend requirements yes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of Sterile Core Technician experience (preferred).
• Certified Central Service Technician with 2 years surgical processing experience (preferred).
• Or Surgical Technologist with five years operating room experience (preferred).
• Visual color acuity as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of surgical case supplies between SPD and the OR to facilitate case flow.
• Assist in projects, process improvement and quality initiatives.
• Promote customer service/satisfaction through training, education and resolution of OR frictions for the facility.
• Care and knowledge of instruments and substitutions as per role.
