Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
  1. Executes daily pharmacy operations pertaining to workflow, production, deadlines, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Helps maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  3. Supervises pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  4. Provides functional support, training, timely communication, and feedback to all staff.
  5. Reviews patient-specific prescriptions to ensure accuracy of orders.
  6. Validates formulas and verifies ingredients used.
  7. Oversees the compounding of sterile preparations.
  8. Monitors competency of core skills and aseptic technique per USP<797> guidelines.
  9. Provides education, guidance, and training to staff as necessary and monitors performance.
  10. Performs quality control measures on all final products prior to release for dispensing.
  11. Manages workflow of product from final verification to labeling, packaging, and shipping.
  12. Monitors pharmacy inventory, initiates order requests, assists with inspection of goods delivered, documents order discrepancies, and assists in resolution.
  13. Maintains all pharmacy records and compliance documentation as required.
  14. Complies with all TSBP rules and regulations, USP guidelines, and pharmacy’s SOPs.
  15. Reports to the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree.
  2. TX pharmacist license, active and in good standing.
  3. IV/Sterile Compounding certification.
  4. Previous experience in sterile compounding preferred.
COMPUTER LITERACY
  1. RxDispense software preferred (will train).
  2. MS Office, Outlook, and Teams.
  3. Other software as needed.
