Job summary

HealthWealth Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on GLP-1 compounding experience and a strong eye for detail.

You will work under pharmacists to prepare sterile medications, follow USP 797/800 standards, maintain accurate records, and uphold patient safety in a fast-paced, ISO-classified environment.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT preferred).
• 1–2 years of sterile compounding experience in a 503A or 503B setting.
• Working knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 compliance standards.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and cleanroom protocols.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical and documentation skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a controlled cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounded medications, including GLP-1 formulations, according to prescriptions.
• Perform sterile compounding using proper aseptic techniques in an ISO-classified environment.
• Follow USP 797/800 standards and applicable regulations.
• Accurately measure, calculate, and prepare compounded medications.
• Maintain documentation, including compounding records, lot numbers, and BUDs.
• Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of sterile areas.
• Monitor inventory, supplies, and medication storage conditions.
• Follow SOPs and quality control procedures.
• Work closely with pharmacists to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely preparation.

We are specifically looking for candidates with hands‑on experience in sterile compounding of GLP-1 medications.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in aseptic techniques, sterile compounding procedures, and USP standards, and can work efficiently in a fast‑paced pharmacy environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounded medications, including GLP-1 injectable formulations, according to approved prescriptions and formulations.
• Perform sterile compounding using proper aseptic techniques in an ISO‑classified environment.
• Follow USP <797> standards and applicable pharmacy regulations.
• Accurately measure, calculate, and prepare compounded medications.
• Maintain proper documentation, including compounding records, lot numbers, and beyond‑use dates (BUDs).
• Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of sterile compounding areas.
• Monitor inventory, supplies, and medication storage conditions.
• Follow established SOPs and quality control procedures.
• Work closely with pharmacists to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely preparation of medications.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and experienced in sterile compounding. Prior GLP-1 compounding experience is strongly preferred, as we need someone who can contribute with minimal training.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-2 years of sterile compounding experience in a 503A or 503B pharmacy setting
