Job summary

Logan Regional Medical Center, a 132-bed community hospital in southern West Virginia, is seeking a registered nurse for the stepdown unit. Under the nurse manager, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for a defined group of patients, coordinating care and supporting patients and families through the care continuum.

The role emphasizes critical thinking, effective communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited RN program is required.
• BSN degree is preferred.
• Current state RN license and BLS.
• ACLS and other facility-required certifications within policy.

Responsibilities

• Collects, records, and analyzes patient conditions and provides care in accordance with patient needs.
• Performs nursing interventions and monitoring, documenting and communicating condition changes to the healthcare team.
• Educates patients and families; promotes physical and emotional well-being.
• Provides discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel in accordance with scope of practice.
• Maintains clinical competence in stepdown nursing practices.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
