Job summary

PrepMatters, Inc. in Bethesda seeks bright, dynamic people to join our paid academic tutor training class, leading to work as a professional tutor in our Bethesda office.

Weekly training sessions will be required for all new hires, with plenty of support from our full-time operations team so tutors can focus on helping students. Responsibilities include one-on-one tutoring across STEM subjects to AP level, crafting personalized education plans, and maintaining strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed and not in progress.
• At least two years of tutoring experience in one or more academic subjects.
• Maintain content expertise for STEM subjects up to AP level (math, chemistry, biology, physics).
• Ability to score well on a qualifying test in relevant subjects.

Responsibilities

• One-on-one tutoring delivering high-quality academic tutoring.
• Maintain content expertise for STEM subjects up to AP level.
• Craft personalized education plans for each student.
• Build students’ confidence and address exam-related stress.
• Serve as primary contact with families, providing progress feedback.
• Proactively schedule conferences with parents and students as needed.
