Job summary

RTW Foundation is seeking a Program Associate to lead the middle school experience for BioQuest in New York. You will know every student by name, track growth, and create a welcoming environment where young scientists begin their journey.

You'll work closely with the BioQuest Program Manager, partner schools, families, and RTW mentors to deliver high-quality programming in community and school settings.

Qualifications

• B.A. in education or related field required; advanced training in education/ STEM a plus.
• 3–5 years of classroom teaching or youth education experience with middle school students.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly inquiry-based enrichment events for middle school students with hands-on activities and discussions.
• Serve as primary contact for students, building relationships across the cohort.
• Track attendance, engagement, and growth to monitor each student's journey.
• Engage families with regular updates on events and student progress.
• Join school visits with the Program Manager to maintain relationship continuity.
• Support BioQuest summer programming with facilitation and daily operations.
• Additional tasks may be assigned as required.
• Co-create middle school curriculum with the Program Manager and design instruction.
• Design engaging activities that build science identity for diverse learners.
• Contribute to program evaluation and curriculum refinement with direct student data.
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Manager about needs and materials.
• Collaborate across the RTW Foundation team to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
