Job summary

RTS in New York City seeks an Education Specialist to ensure youth development principles influence learning environments and programming. You will guide curriculum alignment, model best practices, support lesson planning, and strengthen connections between afterschool programming and the school day across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred; NYS Teacher Certification a plus.
• Experience designing engaging educational activities in formal or informal settings.
• Ability to coach staff, model best practices, and support lesson planning.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Leadership and Program Alignment: ensure activities are enriching, developmentally appropriate, and clearly aligned to objectives.
• Observe classes and coach staff through feedback and modeled instruction.
• Serve as Inclusion Coordinator to ensure equitable access and accommodations for all youth.
• Staff Support and Professional Development: lead on-site and off-site trainings and support program leadership with staffing decisions.
• Curriculum Development and Enrichment: help design and refine curricula across Literacy, Arts, STEM, SEL, and enrichment.
• Data and Quality Improvement: create pre/post surveys and use data to guide improvements.
