New York Edge is seeking an experienced artist and carpenter for the STEM Maker and Woodworking Instructor.
New York Edge is the largest provider of after school and community school programs in all five boroughs of New York City and Wyandanch, Long Island. With more than 25,000 students in grades K-12, New York Edge bridges the opportunity gap faced by students in underinvested communities by strengthening academic performance, health and wellness, self-confidence, and leadership skills for success in life.
This program is a hands‑on woodworking and design initiative where youth from grades 6‑12 learn tangible life skills using traditional hand tools. Through project‑based learning, the STEM Maker & Woodworking Instructor will bridge the gap between STEM concepts and physical creation, teaching creativity, craftsmanship, and structural problem‑solving in a safe, supportive environment. We use real tools and real materials to build real confidence.
