Concept Schools is seeking an Elementary School Principal for Horizon Science Academy Cedar Rapids, a startup-year campus opening Spring 2026. The leader will establish the instructional vision, build systems, and create an inclusive culture while managing startup operations and community engagement.

The role requires entrepreneurial leadership, strong instructional capacity, and a relentless focus on student success, with responsibilities spanning staffing, budget oversight, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent.
• State Administrative Certification required or eligible.
• Experience leading a school, startup experience preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and outreach abilities.
• Operational leadership across budgets, staffing, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish the instructional vision and drive high expectations.
• Build all school systems, structures, and teams for startup.
• Create a positive, inclusive culture aligned to mission.
• Lead startup operations and community engagement.
• Ensure academic excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Recruit and develop founding staff; supervise and coach teachers.
• Foster family and community partnerships and engagement.
