Job summary

University of Connecticut seeks a Visiting Assistant Extension Educator (11 months) to lead 4-H youth development initiatives in food, agriculture, and natural resources literacy across New Haven County. The role includes planning, delivering, and evaluating school-based programs to boost youth STEM knowledge.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nonformal or formal education or related field; agricultural/environmental/health sciences; youth development; or related fields.
• Experience coordinating and facilitating educational programs, including planning, delivery, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of teaching methods for youth and adults; ability to engage diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates extension programs in 4-H STEM activities for youth.
• Teaches youth and adults within UConn 4-H and CAES.
• Collaborates with faculty and partner organizations to create materials and deliver programs.
• Builds partnerships with schools and grants to support community programs.
• Mentions scholarly materials for extension publications.
