Job summary

BPCC, located in Louisiana, seeks an Assistant Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to oversee day-to-day instructional operations across all college sites, including class scheduling, syllabus verification, and advising.

Reporting to the Dean, the Assistant Dean leads faculty onboarding, classroom observations, and resolution of student concerns, while aligning division programs with employer needs and regional workforce requirements.

Qualifications

• Doctorate required in a related discipline or higher education leadership.
• Four or more years of full-time teaching in higher education.
• Three or more years of supervisory or administrative leadership in higher education.
• Understanding of the community college mission and workforce development.
• Ability to develop, implement, grow, and assess a rigorous curriculum.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate adjunct and full-time faculty.
• Leadership experience with increasing responsibilities and change management.

Responsibilities

• Identify scheduling needs across all campuses and prepare class schedules.
• Recommend faculty assignments and coordinate adjunct instructors.
• Monitor class sizes and enrollment, adjust sections as needed.
• Coordinate textbook and instructional material ordering.
• Oversee division labs, safety, and equipment upkeep.
• Act as division operating lead in Dean's absence.
