Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join the Stem Cell Lab at Duke University Hospital. Work Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

ASCP or NCA certification and Flow Cytometry experience are strongly preferred. The role includes a $5,000 commitment bonus and second-shift differential. Responsibilities include performing routine and complex lab tests, operating instrumentation, ensuring quality control, and supporting lab inspections and development of new tests.

Qualifications

• ASCP or NCA certification strongly preferred.
• Bachelors of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science is required.
• Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis.
• Operate manual or computerized instrumentation and calibrate according to SOPs.
• Process patient samples with proper identification to ensure quality testing.
• Maintain inventory and assist in developing new medical laboratory tests.
• Prepare for lab inspections and report quality control results.
