Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist for the Stem Cell Lab at Duke University Hospital. The position offers second-shift hours (11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.) with on-call Saturdays once a month and eligibility for a $5,000 commitment bonus.

Experience in Stem Cell or Blood Bank and ASCP certification strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in CLS/MT required; duties include QC, cellular product handling, and data entry within a CAP/CLIA accredited lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology required.
• ASCP certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests to obtain data for disease treatment.
• Quality control, data entry, and documentation of cellular products.
• Process and cryopreserve cellular products (HPC, Cord Blood, MNC, etc).
• Manage incoming/outgoing Be The Match products and participate in data entry.
