Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago is seeking a part-time STEM Coordinator to develop and teach a STEM afterschool program for ages 6-11. You will coordinate logistics, work with tutors, and manage lesson materials within a dynamic community setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining a STEM curriculum for 6th-8th graders, ensuring age-appropriate, inquiry-based content, and collaborating with teachers.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of college with a degree in Education or STEM related fields of study.
• 2 years experience in after school programming preferred.
• 2 years experience in youth engagement preferred.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate program logistics.
• Assist Tutors with STEM instruction.
• Create, purchase, develop, and maintain detailed inventory and organizational system for all materials, equipment supplies, and lesson plans.
• Maintain and continue to develop a comprehensive curriculum in STEM education for 6th-8th grade students.
• Establish a safe, healthy, supportive, and collaborative learning environment for students.
