Job summary

The Little Gym & Snapology is seeking an After‑School Instructor in New Braunfels to teach Snapology programs for children ages 5–14. You will promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while delivering STEAM concepts in an engaging, curriculum-guided setting.

Part-time hours are typical (8–15 hours/week) with a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement. Prior classroom experience and a passion for hands-on learning are valued.

Qualifications

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.
• 1+ year of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment.
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; candidates pursuing education also considered.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with Snapology's rules and disciplinary systems.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies.
• Prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, and attending training sessions.
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs.
• Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs.
• Participate in Snapology training and staff meetings, as required.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 2:45 PM – 4:45 PM (after-school program hours)
• 6–10 hours per week
• Pay $16-$20 an hour

Position

The primary focus of an After‑School Instructor will be to teach Snapology programs. After‑School Instructor are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 5‑14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities

• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face‑to‑face training sessions

• Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
• Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, After‑School Instructor typically work between 8-15 hours per week.
