Job summary

Snapology of King of Prussia is seeking part-time instructors to teach daytime (9 am – 2 pm), after-school (2:30–5:30 pm) programs, with opportunities for evening classes, workshops, and camps. Instructors promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while delivering STEAM education to children ages 3–14 in West Chester, Liberty Township, Fairfield and Mason areas.

Responsibilities include leading groups, monitoring learning materials, managing behavior, and coordinating with leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with children in classroom or camp environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proven ability to arrive on time and work a flexible schedule.
• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities.

Position

The primary focus of this position will be to primarily teach Snapology programs in the form of daytime (9 am - 2 pm) and after school classes (2:30 to 5:30 pm). There will also be opportunities teach evening classes, workshops, half and full day camps and custom events if additional hours are desired.

Snapology instructors (aka Snapologists) are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 3 -14. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership and other instructors as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in in-person training sessions
• Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
• Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs

Qualifications

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
• 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers, pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs

• Daytime homeschool classes, school field trips and/or school's out workshops (required)
• Weekday after-school classes (required)
• Evening classes
• Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
• Summer camps
• Special events, holiday and break workshops

Must have weekday availability to teach programs in West Chester, Liberty Township, Fairfield & Mason areas during the day and 2:30 to 5:30 pm timeframe at least 3 days per week.

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, part time instructors typically work between 4 - 20 hours per week. (note: if desired to work during Summer Camp season, full time hours will be available).

Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
