Job summary

University of the Pacific is seeking Teaching Assistants for the Reach for the Stars Summer STEM Academy on the Stockton campus. Roles run June 1–June 26, 2026, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3:30 pm, with a short pre- academy period for orientation and setup.

These positions are part-time, temporary, and not visa-sponsorable. Ideal candidates are local college students with a passion for math and science and some prior STEM youth experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Two (2) years’ experience working with school-age students in STEM subjects.
• Local college/university (sophomore and above) student.
• Current or former MESA students from any school, college, or university
• Experience working with younger students.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Assistants will assist teachers with curriculum implementation and project development.
• Attend staff orientation, Minors on Campus Training, staff meetings, and other program preparation activities.
• Support the classroom teacher with instruction of a STEM themed class of up to 25 students.
