Job summary

Big Sky Service is seeking a full-time crew member for general trades work in Grand Rapids, MI. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, install metal framing, and help with carpentry tasks on commercial projects.

We value motivated, self-disciplined individuals who work well alone and in teams, maintain reliability and punctuality, and bring prior commercial construction experience to the role.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine specs and requirements.
• Prepare layouts per building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure and assemble studs; install metal framing.
• Notify supervisor of equipment deficiencies and follow safety procedures.
• Keep work area clean and perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, place and join studs using steel materials
• Install metal framing
• Notify the supervisor of any equipment deficiencies.
• Follow all safety procedures
• Keep work area clean
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Motivated and self-disciplined
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• Reliable and punctual
• Previous experience in the commercial construction industry preferred.
