STEEL SLITTER OPERATOR

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Steel Slitter Operator for a company based in Tuscaloosa, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience operating steel slitting machines to cut rolls of material to specified widths and ensure quality control throughout the production process. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Rate
$18.00 to $25.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
A Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm
B Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 2:00 am
C Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitting machines according to job specifications.
• Load and unload materials such as steel coils, ensuring proper alignment and tension.
• Monitor and inspect finished products for quality, making adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
• Follow all safety regulations and company procedures.
• Assist with material handling and storage as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a slitter operator in a steel processing facility is required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts when required.
