Job summary

Tindall Corporation in the Southeast operates a leading precast concrete fabrication environment and seeks a dependable metal shop assistant to manage material handling and basic fabrication tasks. You will operate overhead cranes, set up jigs, feed iron workers, and assist with unloading trucks, contributing to efficient production and safety on the shop floor.

Candidate should have a high school diploma (or GED) and some related experience; training will be provided to ensure safe, accurate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience
• Ability to read shop cards and cut to prescribed lengths
• Experience with overhead crane and basic metal fabrication is a plus

Responsibilities

• Place rebar, flat stock, angle, wire mesh, coil rod, and channel on rollers and cut to prescribed lengths
• Assist in unloading incoming trucks of material for steel shop
• Move material from storage racks to rollers or shake-out table
• Set jig to required length and hand feed material into iron worker
• Shear and punch holes in various metal shapes
• Stack material on pallets or carts for different jobs
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and dispose of scrap metal
