Job summary

Sargon-Masonry-Construction in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a dependable Steel Washer/Helper to join our fabrication shop team. This full-time, hourly role supports welding and painting prep and helps keep the shop running smoothly.

You will wash and prep steel, remove oils, dirt, and contaminants, assist welders and painters, and help maintain a clean, organized work area. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid sick leave, and holiday pay.

Qualifications

Physically demanding work with the ability to lift materials.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in shop, construction, manufacturing, or metal fabrication is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Clean and wash steel materials for welding and painting prep.
Use sponges, soap, and scrubbing tools to remove oils, dirt, and contaminants from steel surfaces.
Assist welders and painters with shop tasks as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Sweep and clean shop areas on a weekly basis.
Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
