Job summary

MK Consulting Group is seeking a Steel Piping Operations Manager to lead daily plant operations across steel pipe production lines, coating and related processing in Mobile, AL. You will drive safety, quality, and throughput while mentoring a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities include coordinating with maintenance, quality control, engineering, and logistics to prevent bottlenecks and ensure on-time delivery, enforcing OSHA standards, and optimizing KPIs for uptime and scrap reduction.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Experience in steel processing, tube mills, or pipe fabrication.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems and Lean manufacturing/5S.
• OSHA, crane/rigging safety, or Six Sigma/Lean certifications are a strong plus.

• Workforce Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and supervise production supervisors, machine operators, and skilled tradespeople.
