Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a Material Expeditor in Utah to coordinate the unloading and flow of steel components for complex projects in the commercial, bridge, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities include directing staff, inspecting incoming steel against procedures, and moving materials with cranes and forklifts while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Required is a high school diploma or GED with related experience, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus 12 months of related work experience.
• Experience with cranes, rigging, and forklifts.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate locations of materials to be unloaded.
• Check incoming steel in accordance with receiving procedures for accuracy.
• Direct and assist other employees in material control and handling.
• Move materials using overhead cranes and/or forklifts.
• Keep the work area organized and clean.
• Adhere to all safety rules and PPE requirements.
