Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is recruiting a Material Handler to support our fabrication shop in Richmond, VA.

You will load and unload steel, transfer material to production tables, and operate a forklift to feed the line safely and efficiently. Ideal candidates have forklift experience and familiarity with overhead cranes, are comfortable with a fast-paced environment, and can work overtime or Saturdays as needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with overhead crane.
• Experience operating forklift.
• Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
• Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment.
• Must be flexible to work overtime including Saturdays.
• Good math skills.
• Organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

YOUR ROLE AS A MATERIAL HANDLER

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the fabrication shop with various duties such as loading and unloading steel from trucks, transferring steel to production table, and using a forklift as needed.

Daily Responsibilities

• Operate forklift as needed
• Perform rigging work including jacking and staking
• Load and unload steel from trucks
• Load steel to transfer tables to feed production line
• Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop

Requirements

• Must have experience with overhead crane
• Experience using and operation a forklift is required
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
• Works in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures
• Must be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed
• Basic math skills are required
• Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment
• Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours
• Must be organized and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment
