Job summary

New Millennium is seeking a detail-oriented designer to support open web steel joist and decking design, using a proprietary program. The role includes preparing shop orders and details for production, checking designs for other designers, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have strong communication skills, solid computer skills, and a basic understanding of geometry and statics.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient with computer software and general office tools.
• Basic geometry and trigonometry understanding.
• Ability to visualize 3D relationships from 2D drawings.
• Willing to support coworkers and customers beyond core duties.
• Willing and able to work 50+ hours per week during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and design of open web steel joists and decking in proprietary program.
• Prepare shop orders and details for production.
• Check designs and shop orders for other designers.
• Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team and customers.
• Able to adapt to additional duties as assigned.
