Job summary

Wastequip WRX in Galt, CA is seeking a Fabricator to assist in the fabrication of steel parts and tools used in the waste manufacturing process. Under direct supervision, you will read blueprints, set up machines, and prepare parts for assembly.

This role requires at least 1 year in production, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work in a loud, hands-on setting. The position is full-time, on-site with competitive pay of about $20.05 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1+ years prior production experience.
• Experience operating a press brake and/or shear is a plus.
• Understanding of basic CNC controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape.
• Basic math and problem solving skills.
• Experience in a fast paced production environment a plus.
• Experience operating a forklift a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blue prints.
• Positions and clamps, stops, and side guides to set length and angle of cut.
• May turn handwheels to adjust rake and blade pressure.
• Lifts workpiece manually or by hoist or crane to machine bed or roller table.
• Lays out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces.
• Lays out bending lines on metal when bending single pieces.
• Inspects work to verify dimensions and quality.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform tasks as assigned.
