Job summary

Bristol Steel & Conveyor Corp. in Michigan is seeking a dependable General Shop Laborer to support our fabrication and production team. This role assists with daily shop operations and helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting welders and fitters, loading and moving steel, using hand tools, keeping work areas clean, and supporting inventory and material staging while following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in shop, warehouse, or construction is preferred but not required.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work.
• Willingness to learn and take direction; strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders and fitters with material handling and setup.
• Load, unload, and move steel materials.
• Operate hand tools and basic shop equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Perform basic grinding, cutting, and material prep.
• Support inventory and material staging.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
