Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced steel fabrication fitter in Richmond, VA to prepare and assemble structural steel components. This hands-on role requires blueprint reading, precise layout, measurement, and proper fit-up before final fabrication.

You will lay out and position parts, operate fabrication equipment including a track torch, and collaborate with shop personnel to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine parts and sequences
• Perform layout, measurement, marking, positioning and fit-up of structural steel
• Prepare parts for fabrication and assembly with attention to tolerances
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including a track torch
• Familiar with welding methods and common shop tools
• Demonstrate strong measuring skills and detail orientation
• Work well in a fabrication team and adhere to safety procedures

Responsibilities

Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift
Pay: Up to $28/hour, based on experience
2nd Shift Differential: +$3/hour

Position Overview
