Jobot is seeking a Steel Estimator to join a well-established steel fabrication and erection company. The role focuses on analyzing drawings, estimating time, cost, and materials for miscellaneous metals, and coordinating with clients and vendors to ensure competitive bids.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Steel Estimator or similar role in construction.
• Extensive knowledge of steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and project estimation.
• Ability to determine material and labor costs accurately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
• Proficiency in using computer software for developing estimates.
• Degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Professional body certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and docs to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or foremen on estimates and issues.
• Conduct studies to develop standard hour data or cost reductions.
• Review material and labor requirements for in-house vs purchased components.
• Prepare estimates for vendor or subcontractor selection.
• Input costs accurately for proposals and detailed estimates from drawings for small to large miscellaneous metal projects.
