Job summary

Neilsoft Limited in Canton, MI is seeking two Steel Detailing & Project Coordination colleagues for full-time, onsite work. You will detail and model steel structures, coordinating with India and Canada teams, and participate in estimations while ensuring drawings meet client standards.

You should have a civil engineering credential, experience in Tekla/SDS/2, Revit, and strong communication skills. 10–20% domestic travel expected, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or DEC in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with steel detailing and modeling to industry standards.
• Ability to coordinate with client teams and offshore groups.

Responsibilities

• Work on steel detailing and modeling projects and act as liaison between clients and India/Canada teams.
• Participate in project estimations and review deliverables before submission.
• Set and maintain client drawing standards and preferences.
• Generate shop and assembly drawings using Tekla and/or SDS/2 for fabrication.
• Model structural and miscellaneous steel and check against contract drawings.
• Engage in client interactions and coordinate RFIs and communications.

Neilsoft’s Steel Practice has been servicing customers in North America for 20+ years offering high-quality Steel detailing & modeling and connection design support. We work with leading Steel Contractors & Fabricators and Structural Consultants / EPC firms and are engaged in a variety of projects including - residential, commercial, industrial process plants, manufacturing factories, data centers, semiconductor facilities, etc. Our offerings range from fabrication / erection GA drawings, estimation (take off services) to connection design services and our teams work extensively on software packages like Tekla, SDS/2, Advance Steel and Revit.

As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking to add 2 colleagues in our Canton, MI office for Steel Detailing & Project Co-ordination to work on exciting projects for our customers in North America. The role is based out of our Canton, MI office and is a fulltime, onsite position. Job Responsibilities:

• Work on steel detailing & modeling projects and also act as the liaison / co-ordination POC between our Clients and India & Canda-based teams.
• Participate in project estimations and checking of deliverables before client submissions
• Setting and maintaining client preferences and drawing standards
• Should be able to generate shop and assembly drawings using Tekla and/or SDS/2 software for the fabrication of various steel structures
• Experience in Structural and Miscellaneous Steel modeling and checking against contract drawings
• Should have exposure to client interaction and coordination
• Should have knowledge about handling RFI's internal and client/contractor

Job Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of AISC, NISD, IBC, CISC and OSHA standards of structural steel detailing
• Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility, and able to handle teams.
• Good communication with fluency in English and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Revit / Advance Steel / Bluebeam will be an added advantage
