Job summary

Sunward Steel is seeking a Drafter at our Denver, CO location to transform sales orders, customer drawings, and construction documents into precise steel building drawings. You will work closely with engineers, senior drafters, and the broader team to ensure on-time delivery and exact specifications.

The role requires coordinating with engineers to incorporate changes, ensuring compliance with building codes, and supporting project schedules with accurate, build-ready drawings for fabrication

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of drafting experience in architectural, structural, mechanical, or construction environment
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce architectural and structural drawings
• Strong math, trigonometry, and geometry knowledge applied to construction and fabrication

Responsibilities

• Create accurate anchor bolt and permit drawings based on engineering designs and customer specifications for each sales order
• Prepare structural drawings—foundation plans, framing elevations, cross-sections, and connection details using CAD software
• Prepare shipping lists and shop drawings for manufacturing and ensure correct part identification, dimensions, and sequencing
