Job summary

NMSU in Las Cruces, NM is hiring a Steamfitter to maintain and repair campus steam distribution systems and operate boilers. You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safe boiler operation in a university setting.

Requires NM Journeyman Pipe Fitter license or ability to obtain within one year of hire, and a High School diploma with relevant experience. Standard schedule is M-F, 8-5; AFSCME bargaining unit position.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements: i.e. extreme temp, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, other potentially dangerous materials/situations that require safety precaution/protective equip
