Job summary

St. Charles Community College in Missouri invites enthusiastic instructors for week-long summer camps for ages 5-14. Camps focus on STEAM with hands-on activities, science, engineering, math, and arts.

Help plan lessons, deliver engaging activities, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Position runs June 7–August 6, 2027 with four-day weeks on June 18 and July 5. Stipends are paid weekly and vary by full/half-day and candidate qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic communication
• Professional interpersonal and customer service communication skills
• Detail oriented and organized to submit documentation (lesson plans, supply requests)
• Punctual, responsible and trustworthy with confidential information
• Trainings required before start date: HR Orientation, KnowBe4 Safety Training, Summer Staff Orientation, CPR & Epi-pen, Mandated Reporter

Responsibilities

• Develop appropriate camp curriculum based on theme and have lesson plans completed by due date
• Plan, organize, implement, and lead age-appropriate activities for children
• Read and respond to communications from leadership via email and Teams
• Understand health information and IEPs for campers prior to camp
• Submit supply requests and receipts in a timely manner
• Work with an assigned assistant to provide a welcoming camp environment
• Follow arrival/departure procedures with parent IDs
• Communicate with staff, campers, and parents and report safety or health issues
• Ensure care and safety of participants and monitor campers
• De-escalate classroom situations and involve Support Staff when needed
