Job summary

Smith College seeks a dynamic program coordinator for the Jandon Center for Community Engagement (JCCE). The role focuses on designing and delivering STEAM-focused outreach with Smith College partners, supervising student workers, and advising students on STEM paths.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications Required as stated by the employer.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with major emphasis of study in science and education.
• Three years of relevant coordination/management experience in an educational setting.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience with increasing access for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead STEAM outreach and programming initiatives with Smith College partners.
• Recruit, supervise and mentor Smith students and fellows involved in JCCE programs.
• Advise students on academic pathways in STEM and coordinate youth education activities.
• Develop and evaluate community engagement opportunities targeting underserved populations.
• Manage budgets, logistics, and communications for STEAM projects and events.
• Prepare funding proposals and support center-wide operational improvements.
