Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• One year or more of related experience
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Adept computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups
• Passion for working with young children
• Able to respond to safety and emergencies

Responsibilities

• Leads shift team, ensuring they follow all proper care and policies
• Leads by example as mentor to other STEAM Instructors
• Lead event activities ensuring high customer satisfaction
• Create memorable and educational experiences for participants
• Maintain friendly, courteous and professional interactions with volunteers, staff, parents and participants
• Supervise and participate with all children
• Develop and implement curriculum and activity plans within guidelines
• Enforce YMCA policies and safety procedures with positive communication
• Maintain program records and equipment needs
• Adapt to unexpected circumstances to meet members' needs
• Complete required compliance and professional development training annually
• Support other duties as assigned to meet department needs
