Winter Position
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
To perform on and off-season duties for the athletic program as assigned by the Head Coach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a teaching certificate or 60 or more college hours.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examples of Work Performed:
Preseason
- Size and order uniforms and equipment.
- Distribute uniforms.
- Plan, organize, and coach summer practices.
- Plan and receive administrative approval for fundraisers to defray athletes’ costs.
- Manage and distribute sports schedules.
- Complete MSHSAA online rules review and NFHS concussion training.
- Provide first aid for students; maintain emergency procedures.
Recruitment and Tryouts
- Post information at high schools, middle schools, and private schools.
- Hold informational meetings for parents and participants.
- Track applications, recommendations, physical cards, insurance proof, and attendance.
- Set up and manage tryouts.
Season Responsibilities
- Follow all relevant guidelines and policies.
- Hold parent meetings.
- Order buses for activities.
- Ensure travel forms are complete.
- Distribute uniforms and maintain inventory records.
- Manage and supervise practices.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with MSHSAA eligibility rosters.
- Attend all games, including postseason.
- Organize fundraisers, assemblies, pep rallies, and Homecoming activities.
- Maintain activities promoting school spirit.
- Keep accurate records of attendance and grades.
- Report contest stats within two days.
- Manage athlete discipline with respect.
- Submit timesheets if required.
- Maintain parental contact.
