Job Overview

The Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the administration and coordination of housekeeping functions within assigned sections. This includes inspecting guest rooms to ensure they meet standards, assisting Room Attendants, providing training, and assuming supervisory duties in the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College coursework in a related field is helpful
• Previous supervisory experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Approach all guest and staff interactions with friendliness and service orientation
• Maintain attendance according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards
• Ensure personal appearance and grooming standards are met
• Comply with all hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
• Inspect staff performance daily to ensure standards and productivity
• Supervise VIP room inspections and report room availability in absence of managers
• Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and stocked
• Complete and submit daily assignment records timely
• Maintain key control and assist with staff supervision in Laundry and Housekeeping
• Manage Lost and Found items according to standards
• Follow all company policies and house rules
• Ensure staff are attentive, courteous, and helpful
• Oversee staff appearance and cleanliness
• Maintain communication via pager/radio during shifts
• Assign duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants
• Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and work areas
• Report progress on out-of-order rooms daily
• Initiate repairs and follow up on maintenance work orders
• Train, motivate, coach, and counsel staff
• Manage keys and assignment sheets daily
• Attend management meetings
• Ensure regular maintenance and cleaning projects are completed
• Monitor VIP guests and special requests
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
