Job summary

Fortegra in Jacksonville is seeking a Staff Accountant dedicated to statutory compliance and the preparation of regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions. You will coordinate filings, track deadlines, and ensure timely submissions while maintaining organized records.

You will collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Legal teams to gather inputs, monitor changes in filing requirements, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting experience with exposure to statutory filings.
• Experience in the insurance industry strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance a plus.
• Familiarity with NAIC SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and track statutory filings for state departments and regulators.
• Maintain a comprehensive multi-state statutory filing calendar with deadlines.
• Gather, organize, and validate data with Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Legal.
• Liaise with regulators and filing agents to confirm receipt and respond to inquiries.
