$45.00/hr - $46.00/hr

Location: Chapel Hill, NC (The hybrid schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in the office; remote Thursday and Friday).

Job Description
  • Looking for a data analyst/statistician at or above the master’s degree level, to work in a collaborative team of investigators and perform statistical analyses to support new discoveries related to trauma survivors.
  • The primary focus will be to assist with analyses of diverse longitudinal data collected as part of the AURORA study, a multi-site, long-term study funded by NIMH and partners. The study enrolled individuals presenting to a large network of emergency departments in the immediate aftermath of trauma.
  • Participants were followed longitudinally for one year, beginning in the hours after trauma, using adaptive sampling methods and a comprehensive battery of self-report, neurocognitive, physiological, digital phenotype, psychosocial, neuroimaging, and genomic markers.
  • In addition to analyses of these data, the statistician will analyze data from other R01 studies at the institute and analyses of clinical trial data.
  • Must be able to analyze diverse longitudinal data from research studies and have prior experience publishing peer‑reviewed manuscripts and preparing academic, grant, or stakeholder-facing materials.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience with software and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Advanced statistical methods (e.g., multilevel modeling, latent/class cluster analysis, regression-based methods) and familiarity with machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in basic and advanced statistical analyses in clinical or epidemiological research.
  • Ideal candidates will have a PhD in a social, applied, or related science discipline, demonstrated scientific writing ability, and experience performing advanced statistical analyses. Expertise in R and other software packages; ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams.
