Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Statistical Analyst to support biostatistics and clinical development across ongoing studies, performing analyses, data review, and deliverables using SAS or R.

You will develop tables, listings, and visualizations; contribute to SAPs, study protocols, and documentation; travel about 5% and onsite in San Diego.

Bachelor's in Statistics/related field; 2+ years in biopharma; strong communication and data skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 2+ years in biopharmaceutical industry/healthcare system/related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental statistical principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with clinical research statistical concepts (randomization, survival analysis, p-values, confidence intervals).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with biostatisticians on clinical study analysis and data review.
  • Perform statistical programming and generate tables/listings/visualizations using SAS, R, or similar tools.
  • Assist with quality control and validation of statistical deliverables for clinical study reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Support exploratory data analysis and data cleaning.
  • Contribute to development of SAPs, study protocols, and study documentation under guidance.
  • Participate in internal and cross‑functional discussions.
  • Provide statistical support to clinical studies/projects and execute analyses of clinical data.
  • Apply statistical methodologies to turn data into actionable insights.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Statistical Analyst will support biostatistics and clinical development activities across ongoing clinical studies, contributing to statistical analyses, data review, and high-quality study deliverables. Perform hands‑on statistical programming, generate tables/listings/visualizations, support data quality and validation, and contribute to study documentation and exploratory analyses.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with biostatisticians and clinical development colleagues on clinical study analysis and data review.
  • Perform statistical programming and generate summary tables, listings, and visualizations using SAS, R, or similar tools.
  • Assist with quality control and validation of statistical deliverables for clinical study reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Support exploratory data analysis and data cleaning.
  • Contribute to development of statistical analysis plans (SAPs), study protocols, and study documentation under guidance.
  • Participate in internal and cross‑functional discussions.
  • Provide statistical support to clinical studies/projects and execute analyses of clinical data.
  • Apply statistical methodologies to turn data into actionable insights.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in biopharmaceutical industry/healthcare system/related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental statistical principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with clinical research statistical concepts (e.g., randomization, survival analysis, p-values, confidence intervals).
Additional Skills & Experience:
  • Working knowledge of SAS or R; experience with clinical trial data or CDISC standards.
  • Ability to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians; strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks; attention to detail; detail-oriented and solution-driven.
  • Working knowledge of drug development process; orphan/rare disease experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel ~5% and perform onsite/face‑to‑face work in San Diego (not 100% remote).

Compensation:
  • Target base pay range: $85,000.00–$105,000.00.
