About City of Hope Orange County

City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to the City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County's only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn't standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

Position Details

This position will typically work nights - 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. Flexibility in shifts and weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate, inspect, repair, and maintain boilers, and operate auxiliary equipment.
  2. Operate and monitor chillers and chilled water loop throughout the campus.
  3. Perform service and preventive maintenance on all chillers, circulating pumps, control valves, etc.
  4. Perform service and preventive maintenance on all boilers, feed pumps, control valves, etc.
  5. Prepare boilers and related equipment for inspections.
  6. Monitor and operate the chilled water storage system in all phases.
  7. Operate and monitor cooling towers.
  8. Perform tests on water samples to determine and calculate proper chemical dosage for boiler and chiller systems.
  9. Operate emergency generators and switchgear.
  10. Monitor and respond to the energy management system.
  11. Coordinate with maintenance and engineering staff on issues arising from monitoring the Energy Management System throughout the campus.
Qualifications

Your Qualifications should include:

  1. Two years of post-high school trade, business, or professional school.
  2. Five years of related experience.
  3. Experience working on engines, generators, condensers, pumps, compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  4. Current CA driver's license and a good driving record for insurance purposes.
