Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Stationary Engineer, Nights

Position Highlights:

• Position: Stationary Engineer

• Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL.
• Full Time: 40 hours/week
• Hours: Tuesday - Saturday (11p-7:30a)

What you will do:

• Operate, adjust, and maintain power plant and auxiliary equipment such as boilers, chillers, electric generators, pumps, air handlers, pneumatic tube system, and related devices. Observe gauges, record data, and ensure proper functioning.
• Operate building automation and safety systems, perform plant rounds, and inspect equipment for proper operation.
• Respond to calls related to building systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs and routine maintenance.
• Notify departments of service interruptions and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain HVAC and utility equipment, disassemble and reassemble machinery, and perform functional checkouts.
• Respond to emergencies, document actions, and assist with campus snow removal.
• Maintain equipment areas and assist other personnel as necessary.

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Stationary Engineer's License (Chicago or Elgin) within 6 months of start date
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Stationary Engineer, with knowledge of steam plant operations, blueprint reading, and additional knowledge in HVAC, water chemistry, pumps, refrigeration, electricity, or boiler combustion. Proficiency with building automation systems.
