Jackson Health System seeks a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain and repair boilers, HVAC, and related mechanical systems in a hospital environment. The role may involve leading other engineers and resident workers, following plans and specifications, and ensuring safe, efficient facility operation.

Stationary Engineer performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a County hospital, institution, large office building or complex of buildings; may instruct or lead other engineers; may instruct or lead resident workers; and do other related work.
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
High School diploma is required.
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Physical Requirements - Job functions requires extended walking or standing. Must be able to climb stairs/ladder, stoop, bend, crawl and perform repetitive motions as needed. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift , push or pull objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Function requires visual acuity to perform job related activities such as: operating machines or motor vehicles and performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a repetitive and non-repetitive nature.
