Job description

U.S. Facilites, Inc., is a consolidated facility management service company. We are actively recruiting for a Building Engineer. The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems for 4 innovative research laboratory buildings as part of a research facility. Working as part of a maintenance team, the job also includes ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of any facility electrical maintenance concerns, in conjunction with the Company's policies and procedures. Duties generally include but are not limited to:

  • Preventive maintenance & trouble-shooting

  • Incorporating compliant safety practices and measures into workplace operations

  • Commissioning new equipment

  • Validation and calibration of building systems and other equipment

  • Monitoring life safety systems and utilities

  • Maintaining operations and documentation in compliance with all corporate standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Performs electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery, systems, and equipment.

  • Performs Building Automation System operations.

  • Performs preventative maintenance.

  • Responds to alarms at the UG and NW sites.

  • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.

  • Controls and issues tools and equipment.

  • Interprets company policies and enforces safety regulations.

  • This position occasionally requires coverage of other shifts, holidays, and overtime.



Education and Experience required: include the following.




  • Team player with 5 years hands-on and experience in overall operations and maintenance of large office facility.

  • Must have a history of safe work practices and training.

  • Must have strong background and knowledge in building mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Must have certification as Universal Technician for CFC

  • Must possess advanced computer skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Management, our Customers, Contractors and Co-Workers.

  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently unsupervised.

  • Must have a willingness to learn new skills and assist co-workers.

  • Candidate must be able to report to work daily overtime, holidays and required weekends in an emergency.
