Job summary

NVE is seeking a Stationary Engineer for a Federal Facility in Laurel, MD. The role requires Maryland 1st Class Engineer licensure and 5+ years operating large chillers and boilers.

You will maintain critical systems, read blueprints, and monitor building automation controls in a demanding environment. The position includes comprehensive benefits and daytime shift coverage from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with US citizenship and security considerations for federal work.

Qualifications

• Maryland 1st Class Engineer license required.
• 5+ years within last 8 years operating chillers (≥ 500 tons) and 125 boiler-horsepower gas-fired boilers.
• Experience in industrial, laboratory, construction, or commercial building environments.
• Able to pass government background investigation (US citizenship required).
• Able to read architectural and manufacturing blueprints.
• Functional knowledge of Building Automation Systems and monitoring controls.
• Capable with basic office equipment (cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax, scanner).
• Willingness to perform preventive and emergency maintenance as directed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the facility's complex systems, including the building automation system.
• Conduct tours of critical equipment areas and respond to service calls.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Address plumbing issues and support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Follow all required protocols and standards.
