Schedule: Full Time. Mainly days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but may include evenings, overnights, and one weekend day.

Job Summary:

Operates and performs repairs and preventive maintenance on heating, air conditioning systems, boilers, and power plant equipment.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, operate, and adjust facility equipment and power plant machinery following procedures. Perform scheduled inspections and maintain records.
  • Repair broken water and steam lines, install new lines, and perform water and air balancing. Overhaul and maintain pumps, compressors, and heating systems.
  • Clean and repair controls, valves, heat exchangers, motors, and pumps.
  • Maintain and upgrade building automation systems and components, adjusting control strategies as needed.
  • Conduct rounds to check mechanical equipment, troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform maintenance welding, soldering, and brazing as needed.
  • Work safely and perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Two years' experience in relevant field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing, walking, frequent lifting (0-25 lbs.), reaching, gripping, and data entry.
  • Use of vision and hearing for safety and task performance.
  • Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting (25-50 lbs.).
  • Rare use of smell and driving.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Stationary Engineer Class 1 - City of St. Louis, MO

State-specific licenses may be required in Oklahoma and Illinois/Wisconsin.
