Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Stationary Engineer (SE) for a large government facility in Washington, DC. The SE operates and maintains the facility, conducts tours, performs PM services, diagnostics, and repairs. The candidate must possess a Class 3 Steam Engineer (DC).

Work Hours & Compensation

Hours: M-F, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Salary: $49.96/hour.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Log equipment activities.
• Maintain plant and equipment in sound condition.
• Support subcontractors for repairs.
• Coordinate with building managers and clients.
• Document work accurately.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and related systems.
• Perform refrigerant recovery and recycling.
• Operate Building Energy Management System (EMS) and controls.
• Manage hardware and system setups.
• Respond to on-site emergencies and be present during scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass government background check.
• Valid stationary engineer’s license (Class 3 Steam Engineer - DC).
• Completion of a 4-year HVAC apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• Universal CFC/EPA Certification.
• At least 4 years of HVAC system experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Capable of ascending ladders up to 30 feet.
