Calvert Health System seeks a qualified Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain the facility's high pressure steam boilers and related systems. The role involves overseeing air-handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, and electrical systems while ensuring safe, efficient operation.
Ideal candidates will hold a Maryland Stationary Engineer license, have 2–3 years of related experience, and be capable of driving as part of routine duties.
Operates and maintains the efficient operation of the facility's high pressure steam boilers and associated equipment. Maintains and repairs air-handling units, chillers, cooling towers, exhaust systems, heating systems, pumps, valves, piping and electrical systems. Monitors temperatures, pressures and levels (i.e., water, oil, chemicals) associated with pertinent machinery and performs necessary adjustments, repairs and replacements to equipment.
Position requires a high school diploma or GED or 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area.
Unexpired National or State of Maryland Stationary Engineer License.
Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
Position requires 2-3 years related experience.
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
Specific technical skills required to fulfill department requirements.
Up to six (6) months on‑job training to gain proficiency.
Effectively communicates with all staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.
Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
